Some Biblical texts leave us with the feeling that their intended message leads us into a historical cul-de-sac and that they don’t speak to our current situation. This passage in 2 Corinthians seems a bit that way since the details and situation it speaks to are so Corinthian-centric. However, by examining the contents of the text it becomes evident that several principles undergird Paul’s instructions to Corinth which have a very relevant contemporary application.
