2 Samuel 6:10-11
The story of divine blessing upon the house of Obed-Edom is one that provides great encouragement and instruction for Christians. On account of his faithfulness in hosting the ark of the covenant in his home, the Lord blessed his house. All told, Obed-Edom was blessed with 62 sons and grandsons and was granted the privilege of serving as a temple guard at the south gate. This brief narrative of blessing teaches that by fearing the Lord through exalting Christ in the home, the Lord granted blessing to the house of Obed-Edom.
