Preservation At Sea

Preservation At Sea

Acts 27:1-38
After countless days at sea being driven by powerful waves and ferocious winds, the crew on board Paul’s ship had given up all hope of seeing land again. In the midst of these harrowing circumstances Paul was steadfast in prayer for himself and for all on the ship when the angel of the Lord took his stand by him and promised him that all lives would be spared, that Paul would yet stand before Caesar in Rome, and that the ship would run aground on a certain island. Armed with these words of promise, Paul admonished the crew to take courage and to man the oars because God would ensure their safety. This message explores the main point of this text which is that God preserves His church on mission through the use of ordinary means that it may fulfill its God-given calling.
