Luke 7:36-50

A Pharisee invited Jesus over for a banquet but an uninvited guest ended up showing Christ true hospitality. The Pharisee concluded Jesus couldn’t be a prophet, let alone the Christ, on account of his failure to discern who this sinful woman was who so lavishly served Him. Jesus took this opportunity to teach Simon the Pharisee about the nature, fruit, and source of true forgiveness in order to account for this sinful woman’s actions. This message explores the gospel truth that God in Christ forgives a mountain of our sin apart from our own works and sets us free to truly live for Him.
