Psalm 16

Verse 1 bursts forth with a powerful and comprehensive prayer, “preserve me O God!” As David prays for everything necessary for body and soul, he expresses his unbounded faith in the Lord as his Lord. At verse 8, a new voice emerges in the psalm proclaiming an answer and a promise: fullness of life is found in the resurrected Christ.
