Nehemiah 2:9-20

After inspecting Jerusalem’s ruined walls, Nehemiah was struck by the evil of the situation. So, when he gathered the men of Judah, he made a persuasive appeal to them: let us rebuild so we will no longer be a reproach. For Nehemiah, the broken down walls represented sin’s ruin and disgrace. Responding to the call to build began with acknowledging sin’s shame.
