Chapters 11 and 12 of Nehemiah document the record of the repopulation of Jerusalem, the consecration of the priests and Levites for Temple service, and the dedication of the city walls. The point of the restoration of the walls and building up community life in Zion finds its pinnacle and climax in the worship of the people of God. The chief aim of Nehemiah is to teach the church that its whole purpose for existence is worship.
