Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Confession of Sin
O Lord our God, we come to You as Your sons and servants, confessing that we were born in sin and have continued in sin. We have broken Your commandments. We have fallen short of Your glory. We have not loved You with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. We have not loved our neighbor as ourselves. We acknowledge our guilt. We rightly fall under Your curse and judgment. Blot out our transgressions, wash us from our iniquities. Forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Have mercy upon us, O Lord, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Absolution
To all those who repent in this way and turn to Jesus Christ for their salvation, I pronounce the absolution of their sins to be made in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

As poor sinners, we acknowledge before You, our God and Creator, that we have terribly and in many ways sinned against You, not only outwardly, but much more with inward blindness, unbelief, doubts, despondency, impatience, pride, covetousness, envy, hatred, malice, and other sinful affections, as You, our Lord and God know well, and we cannot deeply enough detest. But we repent of these things, and are sorry for them, and heartily ask You for mercy, for the sake of Your beloved Son Jesus Christ.
Absolution
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptance: that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. (1 Tim. 1:15)
Let everyone, with St. Paul, truly acknowledge this in his heart and believe in Christ. Thus, in His name, I proclaim unto you the forgiveness of all your sins, and declare you to be loosed of them on earth, that you be loosed of them also in heaven, in eternity. Amen.

Absolution

I declare according to the command of God, that they are released in heaven from all their sins, through the perfect satisfaction of the most holy passion and death of our Lord Jesus Christ. But as there may be some, who continue to find pleasure in sin and shame, or who persist in sin against their conscience, I declare unto such, by the command of God, that the wrath and judgment of God abides upon you, and that all your sins are retained in heaven, and finally that you can never be delivered from eternal damnation, unless you repent. Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from Your ways like lost sheep. We have offended against Your holy laws. We have left undone things which we ought to have done, and we have done those things which we ought not to have done; and there is no health in us. O Lord have mercy upon us miserable offenders and grant that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous and sober life, to the glory of Your holy name. Amen.
Absolution
Unto as many of you, therefore, beloved brethren, as detest your sins, and believe that you are fully pardoned through the merits of Jesus Christ, and resolve daily more to abstain from sin and to serve the Lord in true holiness and righteousness. I declare according to the command of God, that they are released in heaven from all their sins, through the perfect satisfaction of the most holy passion and death of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But as there may be some, who continue to find pleasure in sin and shame, or who persist in sin against their conscience, I declare unto such, by the command of God, that the wrath and judgment of God abides upon you, and that all your sins are retained in heaven, and finally that you can never be delivered from eternal damnation, unless you repent. Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; 15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. 16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

Absolution

Confession of Sin
Lord God, eternal and almighty Father, we acknowledge before Your holy majesty that we are poor sinners, conceived and born in guilt and in corruption. Because of our sin, we endlessly violate your holy commandments. But, O Lord, with heartfelt sorrow we repent and turn away from all our offenses. Have compassion on us, most gracious God, Father of mercies, for the sake of Your Son Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Absolution
If you sincerely repent of your sins, and believe in the Lord Jesus, then I, in His name, pronounce and affirm that your sins are forgiven, not only on earth, but also in heaven. Amen.
