Sovereignly Saved and Set Apart

Surrounded by a mob of angry Jews, Paul took his stand before them and addressed them in a language they could understand. The charge was that he spoke against the sons of Israel and Paul took that as his opening point for defense. In appealing to his past Paul was able to explain how the Lord saved him and set him apart to serve the Gentiles with the gospel. Instead of being a defense, Paul’s testimony before these Jews turned out to be a divinely prepared open door to preach the gospel. This message explores the message that the sovereign saving and setting apart of Paul for Christian service is itself a picture of gospel grace which shows how the Lord works in every generation to save sinners and call His people to Himself.
