Of the many ways the church can be characterized, the church militant is one. The church militant is described in the Second Helvetic Confession article 17 as the church which wages war on earth, and fights against the flesh, the world, and the prince of this world, the devil; against sin and death. Militant is not a description, it is a duty necessitated by the life-context of the church which is the context of a fallen world and as a spiritual institution under relentless assault by Satanic opposition. This message explores the spiritual means of martial opposition to the kingdom of darkness.
