Having narrated the history of the planting of the Antioch church, Luke transitions to show how it became a church planting church. A seasoned pastor named Barnabas came down to Antioch and mentored the church into an estate of spiritual maturity through the ministry of the means. As the church grew into maturity it began to reproduce and became the missionary power house of the ancient church. The main point of this text is that church plants grow into mature reproducing churches through spiritual mentors applying the ministry of the means to teachable believers.
