Nehemiah 9

To build a solid foundation for spiritual community, Nehemiah led the people of God in public confession of sin. The sins of the past were likely to spring up again in the new generation of saints if they did not dig down deep to tear up sin by the roots. As the people of God gathered for public confession of sin, they healed spiritual brokenness and prepared for God’s service. The purpose of this text is to teach the church that sincere confession of sin is the only way to renew a broken relationship with the Lord.
